Grand Canyon - North Rim
Project type
Portrait
Date
July 2024
Location
Grand Canyon National Park, Arizona
The North Rim of the Grand Canyon offers a quieter, more secluded experience than the bustling South Rim, sitting about 1,000 feet higher in elevation and surrounded by dense forests of ponderosa pine, fir, and aspen. Because of its altitude (around 8,000 feet / 2,400 m), the North Rim enjoys cooler temperatures, alpine meadows, and brilliant wildflowers in summer. Sweeping vistas such as Bright Angel Point, Cape Royal, and Point Imperial showcase dramatic cliffs, deep red rock layers, and the Colorado River far below. Open only from mid-May to mid-October due to snow, the North Rim feels remote and serene — perfect for travelers seeking rugged beauty, hiking trails, and a more intimate view of one of the world’s most iconic landscapes.
